Welcoming New Members to the CYCF Board

Kurt Anderson, Ian Burns, Lisa Scully, and Chris Whitford have joined the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation Board of Directors. Each brings a different set of experiences and perspectives to the Foundation, along with a shared commitment to expanding access to Lake Michigan for young people across Chicago. We are grateful to have them join the Board at an exciting time in the Foundation’s growth.
Kurt Anderson
A longtime sailor, donor, and nonprofit advisor, Kurt Anderson joins the Board with thoughtful leadership and a strong belief in the Foundation’s mission. He is especially inspired by CYCF’s ability to help young people across Chicago build confidence and leadership through time on the water. Read more about Kurt
Ian Burns
Ian Burns brings professional insight, a strong connection to sailing, and a real enthusiasm for helping more young people get out on Lake Michigan. Through his work with Wintrust, he has also helped strengthen partnerships that open the door to meaningful on-the-water experiences across Chicago. Read more about Ian
Lisa Scully
Lisa Scully brings a longstanding connection to Chicago Yacht Club, along with broad nonprofit leadership experience and a strong commitment to community-building through sailing. Chris Whitford
A familiar name in Chicago sailing, Chris Whitford brings decades of experience on the water and a longtime commitment to the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation. His support of the Foundation and its Competition Fund reflects a deep belief in creating more opportunities for young people to get involved in sailing. Read more about Chris
